Ok, so I can tell a well-made piece of audio equipment when I see it. This feels nice and a bit weighty. I like that it has several ways of connecting - Bluetooth, USB, RCA. I've hit bit of a snag in that I haven't been able to get this connected to my equipment and hear how well it works. I'm by no means, an audiophile but I selected this because I have a W-KING Bluetooth Speaker that I use with my iPad Air 4. It tends to be a little bassy (which I love) but wanted to see if I could smooth the sound out a bit by connecting it to the Douk. As it turns out, I've found that I most likely need a Douk audio adapter in order to use it this way. I tried connecting a cable that's USB-C on one end to my iPad and the USB-A on the other end to the Douk thinking the Douk would effect the music playing from the iPad and coming out of the King. I couldn't get any sound but I'm sure it's because I'm missing an adapter. I also tried connecting the Douk to my iPad via Bluetooth and also got no sound.I also have a full surround system that's powered by a Denon receiver but the receiver is at least 20 years old so I'd have to connect it old-school style using RCA cables...and I'd need some muscley help in moving my entertainment center. The Douk is small in size and won't be a problem finding some space for it.

I've put a 7.1.4 surround sound system in my PC gaming/man cave/spare bedroom. It's run off a Denon X3800H. Its internal amp can only run 9 speakers. So for the second pair of ceiling speakers to take it from 7.1.2 to 7.1.4, you need an external amp. That needed first amp is what first set me down the road of mini class D amps as I already spent a lot and didn't want to get an expensive pro amp as well. I've tried 4 different ones now from Vine. Each from unknown brands. They were all a variations of poor to just barely good enough. The latter of which is the Facmogu AK-3116 that this Douk amp is replacing. (All of them had the Texas instrument 3116 chips in them. I've now learned that if you're going to go with a mini class D amp, make sure you get one that has the Texas instrument 3255 chip like this has) Of the 4 I got off Vine it was the only one good enough to be used in my system. All the rest had way too much background hiss. It did too but it was soft enough that I couldn't hear it from the bed if running the front speakers. So I started going down the rabbit hole instead of just trying different ones that come up on Vine for review. I my research 3 brands kept coming up. Aiyima, Fosi, and Douk. And from what I can see in that order of popularity. Not counting the other Vine rejects I've now tried the Aiyima A7 Pro, Fosi V3 mono, and the Fosi TB10D. The latter of which is running a couple of Buttkicker LFE mini and a Buttkicker Advance tactile transducers (I highly recommend tactile transducers BTW) so all it needed was reliable power and it gets the job done. Of the 3 the Aiyima comes out on top. But I now put this Douk on par with it. Between it and the Aiyima, both don't have any more background hiss than the Denon's internal amp itself has. Which is only audible if you put your head right up on the speaker. I was happy this turned out so well considering that I picked that Aiyima based on it being recommended more than any others I found in the class D mini amp category.What I like about this.As mentioned above the sound quality is on par with the A7 Pro. Bluetooth works great. No issues with it connecting quickly and staying connected. It doesn't run that hot. The input ports are spaced far enough apart that there's no issue getting the thicker than normal subwoofer cables I'm using as RCA to fit fine. (I'm running those as they're generally better shielded and as shown in the pic there's a rat's nest of wiring back there) The binding posts are decent enough to get the job done. The bass and treble knobs have a for lack of a better term, tactile notch in them. With that you can actually feel when they're set to exactly zero in the middle, instead of having to guess like all the others as nobody seems to want to print numbers on any of these. It drives my Klipsch RP 600M II front speakers nicely.What I don't like about it.All I can think of so far is I wish it had an on off toggle like all of the others have. Instead it turns on and off with the volume dial. But that like the bass and treble is something I don't want to change as after I set them I run the Denon's Audyssey to set the levels. So when turning it off and on I have to make sure I set it back to as close to the exact level as I had it at when running the room correction. Which is a needless annoyance.All in all I'm quite happy with this. I'm glad I decided to give Douk a shot. Most of what I heard about them before was almost always people complaining about them. It's nice to see this live up to one that people often said good things about like the A7 Pro. Douk has stepped up their game with this amp.
