I used the T4 Pro Mini for a few weeks as a phono preamp in my living room system (turntable + amplifier).
Sonically, it performs well: warm presentation thanks to the GE5654 tubes, pleasant midrange and overall good musicality. For the price, the build quality and tube character are convincing.
In summary: a good little tube phono preamp – musical and affordable – but somewhat limited in connectivity if you need more versatility.
Just purchased my second T4 Pro to pair with my new Fluance RT82 turntable. I mostly have thrift store vinyl records, clean them up and record them to Audacity and needed an entry level audiophile setup to enjoy those old Classical and Soft Rock/Pop records when I find them!
The dollar per pound on this unit is Amazing. Not needing to Power Up the big guy for the headphones is a good thing. Headphones are ALIVE!
Added to my Onkyo TX-NR555 receiver because I did not like the phono stage. This gave a much richer sound with increased gain. Big difference for my system.
This is a really good and very flexible preamp. When I bought it I really didn’t think I would use the Aux or Headphone jacks. But, the headphone jack is especially nice. Connect good open back headphones and the vinyl music is so rich. Wonderful way to get straight to the music without the AV receiver and speakers, especially for late night listening without disturbing others. Also performs very well at full gain plugged into my receiver Aux connection.
