Douk Audio ST-01 PRO Review | All-In-One Bliss
I finally managed to get my little ST-01 Pro set up today and to say I’m impressed would be an understatement. This little thing packs a punch.
I upgraded the power supply to the 24V 6A power pack. I did this to give the amp more headroom at the top end and it works a treat. I could only find one 30V 5A power supply, and the circuit information was on a sticker stuck to the top of the power brick, so I decided to stick with the 24V 6A that Douk sells.
My ST-01 Pro came with the Jan 5725W General Electric Co tubes, not the 6K ones. I don't know if this is new stock or a mistake, but I’m not complaining. So with the upgraded power supply and tubes, my ST-01 Pro sounds clear, even at very low volume. I have the ST-01 Pro powering 10-70W KEF speakers and they seem to go very well together, with a wide deep sound stage.
All together, I’m very happy I took the time to look up the ST-01 Pro and decided to pull the trigger. When I’m in the market for more Hi-Fi products, I’ll definitely be coming to Douk Audio first.

Power: 9/10 (I’m getting about 45W per channel with the power supply I bought, using 6 ohm speakers)
Sound Quality: 10/10 ( I haven't experienced any clipping at high volume.
Small with Power!
Great AMP/DAC combo. Perfect for my studio
Brilliant. Great concept, well made, retro look fantastic. It’s driving two large Fifty year old KEF transmission speakers. I could not recommend more highly. I have the retro model and two of the basic. Setting my grandson up with his own bedroom sound system. I cannot see any downsides. Physical material well made, the wifi antenna needs to lock it screws in but is moveable.
Once upon a time I was on the sales side of the A/V industry. Because of that I got to hear some of the best stuff money can buy. And I'll tell you without hesitation that this little amplifier very much impresses me. Very nice, very natural, articulated sound quality. Tight bass. Wonderful imagery. Great features and functionality. Don't hesitate for a second to pick one up for yourself. Unless: You happen to have no common sense (or are simply an idiot in general) and try to overdrive this little amp into oblivion and then complain about distortion. That's Not what the ST-01 Pro is about. Be reasonable with it and you will be beyond happy with the sound quality. I paired it with a nice $80 set of bookshelf speakers and the results are nothing short of spectacular--especially for the price point.. I would be beyond foolish to hook it up to my massive Klipsch towers to try to shake the house with them. Common Sense must prevail. Please feel free to ignore any negative reviews of this great little amplifier. You'll be glad you did.
