I absolutely love it! The music sounds so much better even with the stock Tubes. I've already ordered some GE and RCA Black Plates NOS Tubes. Highly recommend
My headphones is a Meze 99 classics. I had the opportunity to connect it on a friend’s Douk P1 and discovered this sound, incredible for such a price. so I bought myself a Douk P1 asap. And there begin the “but…” part. I havent been able to plug properly the mini jack from my headphones to the Douk. It doesnt grip. I contacted the Douk’s support and I can tell they are really reactive. They agreed there was a problem there and should send me within a few days a new jack plug to weld in place of the existing one. I do hope it will work. But it is really extremely frustrating, let apart a lot of trouble.
I can't love this preamp more, solid feel all the way down to the switches. Love this product
Overall, it's really great, but 3 things I wish were different.I wish the usb was usb-c and provided power. I bought a usb-c to usb-b cable so I can plug in my phone to avoid bluetooth audio quality issues. My phone battery drains while using that setup. I'm not sure yet, but I think after the phone battery gets lower than a certain point, audio over usb stops working to save the battery.Also, the rca analog input isn't really a passthrough and it goes through the pre-amp, which adds more distortion unnecessarily. So there should be a bypass switch or always bypass. I'm not interested in bass or treble or volume control.Also, if it had a phono MM input, I wouldn't need a separate piece of equipment for that.
The Douk P1 is a good amp at the $90ish price point. Audio is clear and defined. The bass and treble controls work well without increasing distortion. Bluetooth connects easily.Used this to drive some HD599s and HD600s and both sound good.There is one small issue - when no music is playing, there is some small static in the left channel. I've used three of these and they all had this issue. I don't hear the static when music is playing.I paired this with an Apple TV and movies and tv sound fantastic.As a inexpensive, bluetooth enabled headphone amp I'd say it is good value for money.
