Q: What is the input voltage of the P7?
A: The P7 operates at DC 12V/≥2A. Using over voltage can cause damage, while insufficient current may affect normal operation.

Ok, I was actually after a (HO)MC compatible phono with adjustable load settings. But the first review, tubes, price and XLR outout made me tryout this phono first. What a great purchase. Moving from Mani 1 the plan was a straight upgrade, but this came out a at 1/3 of the price delivered.
Soundwise its a huge upgrade from the Mani. Much more detailed soundstage, better instrument separation, better defined bass, control of treble (although I prefer keeping it near neutral) that became a bit sharp after moving to HOMC cartridge. I don’t find the soundstage wider but definitely more defined. But even with a HOMC this works ok, I have not yet compared to proper MC stages however or with a custom load solution, but my sound right now is just so enjoyable I may have to listen through my entire collection before the next move.
Also MC phonos with XLR outout i just out of my pricerange. I might borrow from my audio shop and come back with some comparisons to MC phonos, but it will take a while!
Final words, As a budget MM phono this is a no brainer, if mani was already reviewed as great value for money this beats it by a lot. If douk releases an MC phono preamp with adjustable load and XLR output I’m going to buy it first!
Cool little Phono pre amp!
I love the XLR outputs. Connects easily to my powered studio monitors. The RCA line-out is also a big plus! I have it running to my receiver to play through my other speakers alongside the powered monitors. Sounds awesome!
Not only that, we also run our 100 disc cd changer into the second line input.
You need to be careful when changing inputs: I suggest turning it down before you change anything.
It didn’t give any sound improvement with my system.

This is a first impression review after 2 days. Compared to my Schiit Mani 2, I can happily replace my Mani with this. The soundstage just opened up so much going to this. Every sound is outside of the speakers. The clarity is not reference by any means, but it's still detailed enough. I honestly will trade that for music that feels like the band is in front of you. The bypass mode is pretty natural sounding, but I prefer the sound with the to the controls. It sounds punchy AF and the bass is very present. My one complaint so far is the drums sound kind of low in the mix on some records. It does make them sound far back which is cool though. I'm sure you can also get different results if you do some tube rolling.
